slow art

I’ve never been very prolific. My pace is slow, almost glacial. One photograph can represent days or even weeks of work… preparation, shooting, editing, revising, thinking. My photographs are like gems to me, uncovered from deep in the earth. They are statues rescued from tons of stone. They are tapestries woven strand by strand. It can be a frustrating way to work at times, but it’s how my art happens, so I really have no choice.
