Whenever I walk outside, I like to gather the bark, seeds, and twigs that fall from trees, known as 'litterfall'. My favorite time is just after a storm has passed, when the ground is covered with possibilities, and my inspiration is shaken free. This humble ephemera of nature, normally raked up and discardded, actually have stories of unexpected strength and grace to share. (See as slideshow.)
