new photographs of the "not so ordinary"

Autumn has returned, bringing with it new inspiration for my art. The falling leaves, the scattered acorns, and the newly bare branches all offer new subjects to explore. While collecting leaves at our local park recently, I recalled something Georgia O'Keeffe said: "Now and then when I get an idea for a picture, I think, how ordinary. Why paint that old rock? Why not go for a walk instead? But then I realize that to someone else it may not seem so ordinary." Especially when seen through her eyes. This inspires me. I may create photographs of very common things, but when I look at them, they are anything but common. I hope that my art passes on some of the drama, emotion, and soul that I see in these simple and often overlooked parts of nature.
