“The greatest poetry is revealing to the reader the beauty in something that was so simple you had taken it for granted.” – Neil deGrasse Tyson
I’ve been trying to say something like this for years. Leave it an astrophysicist to come up with the right words! You see, Neil is describing exactly what I am trying to do with my art. I want to take the most common and overlooked parts of the natural world — the leaves we rake, the weeds we yank — and help people see them as they actually are. I want people to understand that even in the most crowded city or orderly suburb, we are surrounded by a wild, chaotic natural world.
