Finding the image that is hidden within one of my leaves usually takes a lot of time and exploration. But this one came to me almost immediately. I found this leaf as I was waiting with my kids for their school bus. They are now used to their dad stopping to pick up random twigs or leaves as we walk, and often help. We were kicking around the first few fallen leaves of autumn as we waited, until this one jumped out at us. This shape of this leaf was particularly interesting, and when I turned it over in my hands, I immediately saw this image of an eye. At least, I saw the possibility of it. It still took several days in the studio to transform that idea into an actual photograph.
