dryad – a new abstraction of a dried leaf

Dryad - an abstraction of a leaf by Daniel Sroka
While preparing photographs for my upcoming show at ArtExpo, I discovered this long-lost photograph. I had created it eight years ago. At the time, I had seen a glimmer of possibility in it, but just couldn’t figure out how to achieve it. So I set it aside, and let it germinate. When I stumbled on it again this morning, I immediately saw how to achieve what it wanted to become. Sometimes, it just takes a while.

I just came across your blog via a link on Twitter from Tricia McKellar. I just looove your work! I read through some of your latest blogs and I just love the macros from your artist-in-residence time. Really stunning. Definitely looking forward to seeing more of your work!
Some of my paintings take a while to figure out!
Nice image and finely crafted.
