new photographs from this week

I’ve been trying to buckle down and focus more energy on creating new art, and I managed to do a pretty good job of it this week. I was able to spend a least 3 hours in the studio each day, and have the following photographs to show for it. Now, let’s see if I can keep this pace up going forward!

The leaf was from one of my leaf hunts from this past fall. They have finally dried nicely, and have taken on some amazing shapes! The flowers were from a bunch of gerber daisies I got my wife as a replacement for her Valentine roses that wilted on the second day.

  1. The Gerber Daisy pictures really shine. Some of your best work!

  2. Good for you man, create! I too especially like the Gerber Daisy imagery.

  3. I love the fallen leaf images. The crisp detail balanced with the soft, blurred edges always engages my eye.
So if you buy your wife flowers and then photograph them, does that mean you get to write off the expense? I’m sure my husband would give me more gifts if he could claim them as a business expense…bouquet of wrenches, anyone?

  4. these are so very beautiful …. you call them abstract photo – are they straight out of camera or do you abstract in photoshop ?

i only ask because you name it specifically … just a curiosity question – they are very very beautiful >>> Gina

  5. Gina, these are all created directly through the camera. No extra special effects are added.
