Test 2: Comparing Sharpness
The image below compares the sharpness of images coming out of Silkypix (left) vs ACR (right). The ACR image has no sharpeness applied in ACR itself, since I don't find it's sharpeneing option that powerful. The ACR image is (of course) much less sharp.

I then opened the ACR image in Photoshop, and used Photoshop's Smart Sharpen function to improve it. The image below compares the Silkypix image (left) vs ACR with Smart Sharpen (right). I found that Smart Sharpen was quickly able to give me results comparable with Silkypix
